ERVING — After successfully expanding the event to Berkshire County for the first time, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Massachusetts will conclude its annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser at French King Bowling Center on Saturday, May 3.
The event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, serves to raise money for programs that support children in Berkshire, Franklin and Hampden counties. Anyone looking to participate can register themselves or their bowling team of five to six members prior to the event. Teams are encouraged to raise pledges from friends, colleagues and family members.
“This event is about reminding people about the work we do,” Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Massachusetts CEO David Beturne said in a statement. “We hope people will share the positive impact mentorship has on kids, and the role that BBBSWM plays in supporting these relationships. Whether you’ve volunteered [or have] been a child in one of our programs yourself, we want to hear about how this work has helped you or someone you love.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters fosters mentoring relationships between adults and children from age 5 to young adulthood. The organization matches children, known as “Littles,” with vetted mentors, called “Bigs.”
The Erving iteration of the Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser marks the conclusion of three separate events held around western Massachusetts over the past month. The first, in Pittsfield, was held on April 19, at K&M Bowling and the second, at Shaker Bowl in East Longmeadow, was held on April 26. The three-week fundraiser is one of the organization’s signature events.
To register to bowl on Saturday, visit secure.qgiv.com/event/bbbswm2025bfks. Participants can register individually or as part of a team, and they will set fundraising goals for themselves that they can track on the website. Registration is free. Donations at the event and on the website are highly encouraged.
