The Frontier boys basketball team’s three-game win streak came to a close on Friday. 

After consecutive wins over Greenfield, Southwick and Hopkins, the Redhawks were unable to get past Drury, as the Blue Devils walked away with a 64-50 Hampshire League South victory at Goodnow Gymnasium. 

Drury led 32-26 at the half and 46-42 going into the fourth, with Blue Devil Jorge Bond scoring 34 points for Drury. 

Max Millette finished with 24 points, Garrett Dredge scored 11 points, Alex Ellis recorded nine points while Eric Larsson added four points in the loss for Frontier. 

Turners 47, Franklin Tech 30 — It was Coaches vs. Cancer Night in Turners Falls on Friday, with Turners Falls High School raising money toward alumni Jenna Putala’s fight with cancer. 

“It was incredible,” Thunder coach Jay Liimatainen said. “The gym was packed. I can't remember that many people being in the gym and they were all there for a good cause. We raised a lot of money for Jenna.” 

It was the host Thunder that walked away with a Hampshire League North victory, with Jackson Cogswell leading the way with 14 points. Kainen Stevens tossed in 12 points, Freilyn Abarua recorded 11 points while Caden Williams added six points in the winning effort. 

Gabe Mota tallied 10 points, Brody Hicks scored seven points, Caleb Johnston recorded six points while Jaime Muniz added five points for Franklin Tech.

Greenfield 69, Mahar 50 — Leading 31-24 at the half, the Green Wave scored 19 points in both the third and the fourth quarters to walk away with a Hampshire League South triumph over the visiting Senators at Nichols Gymnasium on Friday. 

Grayson Thomas finished with 20 points, Jon Breor scored 15 points, Caleb Murray recorded 12 points, Caleb Thomas tossed in 11 points while Gavin Arsenault added seven points in the victory for Greenfield. 

Derek Collins led Mahar with 16 points, Jayden Delgado scored 13 points, Lian Lopez-Baez tallied nine points while Marshall Ames scored eight points in the loss. 

Athol 72, Mount Greylock 45 — The Bears celebrated Senior Night in style, leading 31-20 at the half before pulling away with a Hampshire League North victory at Mallet Gymnasium on Friday. 

With a win over Smith Academy on Tuesday, Athol would clinch at least a share of the HL North title. 

“One game closer,” Bears coach Brian Patria said. “We played well all-around and many players contributed. Nice win for our seniors. It was a special night honoring them for their commitment and hard work.” 

Ben Kearney finished with 15 points, Brandon Adams scored nine points, Logan Cormier, Ethan Bacigalupo and Aaron Ouellet each scored eight points while Karim Thompson added six points in the victory. 

Pioneer 79, Hopkins 29 — The Panthers raced ahead 42-10 at the half to run away with a Hampshire League South victory over the Golden Hawks at Messer Gymnasium on Friday. 

 Kurt Redeker led the way with 23 points, Brayden Thayer tossed in 22 points, Alex McClelland tallied nine points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals, Will Glazier recorded eight points while Jackson Glazier added seven points to move Pioneer to 16-0 on the season.
