Bulletin Board: Rodney Demers sinks ace at Thomas Memorial

Rodney Demers recorded a hole-in-one at Thomas Memorial Golf and Country Club in Turners Falls on Wednesday.

Demers aced No. 7, using a 9 iron to sink the shot. Mike Waterman, Mike Morin and Roger Cloutier witnessed the feat.

Thomas Women's League

Sally Malloy shot the low cross of 43 while Delia Foster recorded the low net of 31 in the Thomas Women’s League at Thomas Memorial on Wednesday. 

Malloy won closest to the pin on No. 7 (one feet, six inches). 

Timmons-Messer

Jim Lafond and Andy Sena shot the low gross of 35, with Paul Barnard and Tom Almstead settling for second (36) in the Timmons-Messer League at the Northfield Golf Club on Wednesday. 

Sunny Lucas and Jeff Roberts won a match of cards over Steve Lanou and Jim Cadran for the low net of 28. Sena won closest to the pin on No. 6 (12-2) while Jeff Seymour won on No. 7 (5-0). Tom Almstead was the match medalist with a 37.

Franklin First Credit Union 8, Pristine Orientals 3 — Marlee Pratt knocked four hits, Grace Hickey tallied three hits while Dani Zraunig pitched and hit a double in Franklin First’s Junior Division win on Thursday. 

Hayden Sadler, Emmy Perez and Makenna Ward each had two hits for Pristine. 

Pipione’s Sport Shop 9, Greenfield Elks 2 — Ava Martin pitched while Rebekah Grant played well in the field in Pipione’s win on Wednesday. 

Alyza Rivera, Caroline Barrett and Lillana Hurbert played well in the loss. 

Gilmore & Farrell 21, Descavich Plumbing 11 — Miley Frey cracked four hits and drove in three runs in Gilmore’s Ponytail win Wednesday.   

Samantha Suhl had two hits while Leah Batiste and Alexis Berry each hit safely for Descavich. 

Tri-County

Northfield Cougars 16, Hinsdale Fillies 3 — Ryleigh Goodwin struck out six, Josephine Hescock tallied three hits and an RBI while Emmalee Brinster and Abigail Fortier both had two hits and two RBIs in the Cougars’ win on Wednesday. 

Acelynn Duso and Cheyanne Parker both had two hits for Hinsdale. 

Middle School

Greenfield 20, Turners 1 — Avery Cutting struck out four while Stella Call, Haddie Connelly, Sammi Suhl, Carson Farrell and Kayden Viencek hit safely in Greenfield’s win Wednesday. 

Myaa Reed hit a triple and struck out two while Mikaila Pagan Likely knocked two hits for the Thunder.

Denny’s Pantry 7, Maniatty’s Real Estate 6 — Ben Shivone struck out 13, Aaron Turner had a walk off single while Shivone (double, single), Xaviay Reynolds (triple), Andrew Gardner (double) and Adrian Lava (hit) helped Denny’s earn a win on Thursday. 

Jackson Baker doubled, Carter Gunnison, Jackson Puchalski, Phil Brodeur, Fisher Williams and Luciano Stoffolano hit safely in the loss. 

Gagne Wealth Management 11, Baker Financial 10 — Joey O’Hara tallied three hits, Jack Merrigan and Kydanie Rivera both had two hits while John Vera-Dreyer pitched a shutout sixth in Gagne’s win on Wednesday. 

Onalaya Locke had two singles and a double while Cody Castine and Shea Cairney each recorded three hits for Baker.
