GREENFIELD — A Connecticut man is set to be arraigned on charges stemming from an alleged hit and run Thursday evening at the Interstate 91 rotary.

According to Deputy Police Chief William Gordon, Anthony Darryl Jackson, 31, of New Britain, Connecticut, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and vandalizing property.

The hit and run was reported at 6:29 p.m. on Thursday, according to Gordon. Jackson, driving a 2013 Acura, was attempting to merge into rotary traffic and allegedly did not yield for oncoming vehicles. A second vehicle, a 2002 Dodge driven by a 20-year-old resident of Halifax, Vermont, collided with the Acura and rolled over. The driver was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

Gordon said Jackson fled and continued south, later crashing his vehicle. Greenfield Police and Deerfield Police, with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police and Greenfield K-9 Officer Patrick Merrigan, arrested Jackson a short time later.
