BERNARDSTON — A man was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Vermont on Wednesday morning after the vehicle he was driving rolled over in the area of mile marker 54 in Interstate 91’s northbound lane.

According to a post on the Bernardston Fire Department’s Facebook page, the department was dispatched at 7:36 a.m. alongside Northfield EMS, State Police and the state Department of Transportation. First responders arrived to find that the driver, who was the lone occupant of the Toyota Corolla, had gotten out of the car on his own but sustained minor injuries.

Bernardston Fire Chief Peter Shedd said the man complained of chest pain, which was likely caused by the seat belt. Shedd also said the vehicle’s airbags deployed.

According to the Facebook post, Northfield EMS transported the man to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for treatment. Interstate 91 northbound was temporarily reduced to one lane but was fully reopened after Koch’s Automotive removed the vehicle.
