Women’s Boxing: Former competitive fighter and certified USA Boxing coach Vanessa Chakour is leading a progressive boxing class. Participants will learn the fundamentals of boxing, including footwork, balance, coordination, agility, cardio, reflexes, defensive techniques, partner drills and professional boxing techniques. The class is ideal for both beginners and experienced boxers who are looking to refine their skills. The class is for women only.
Teen Personal Training: This summer, teens are invited to unlock their full potential with the YMCA’s personal training program (for ages 13 to 18). Every workout is designed to help teens move smarter, lift safer and feel better, both physically and mentally. Individual and group training sessions are available.
Children’s Swim Lessons: The YMCA’s curriculum is designed to advance each swimmer’s skills and abilities in a wide variety of swimming proficiencies such as personal safety, submersion, stroke work, diving, boating safety, competitive swimming, endurance and physical fitness.
Gymnastics Lessons: It’s not too late to join gymnastics at Franklin County’s YMCA. Summer registration is open.
Pioneer’s Strongest: Residents can train for the Aug. 9 competition at the YMCA’s Strongman/Strongwoman clinics in July. Participants will learn the Log Press, Axle Deadlift and Atlas Stones. Clinics run from July 6 to July 20. Sign up and get ready to compete at your-y.org or stop by the Welcome Center.
Adult Swim Lessons: If you’ve ever wanted to learn to swim or just feel more confident in the water, the YMCA’s adult swim lessons have openings available. The summer session is underway and it’s not too late to join. Participants will learn essential water safety skills and build confidence one stroke at a time. Register at your-y.org or stop by the Welcome Center.
