Greenfield Skate Park Clips Day: Skaters of all skill levels are invited to take part in an all-wheel skate competition featuring prizes and tricks hosted by Theory Skate at the Greenfield Skate Park on Saturday, May 31, from 2 to 5 p.m. Greenfield Community Television (GCTV) will film the event and the footage will be compiled into a community skate video, set to premiere in August. Spectators are welcome.

Learn to Play Tennis at the Davis Street Courts: This free program on Sunday, June 1, from 2 to 3 p.m. will introduce basic tennis strokes, rules and scoring. Intended for ages 6 and up. Register in advance at greenfieldrecreation.com.

Home Alone Safety Class: Is your child ready to stay home alone? Ease your mind and help them prepare for independence with the Home Alone Safety Course on Thursday, June 5, from 6 to 7 p.m. Intended for ages 9 and 12, and taught by members of the Greenfield Police and Fire departments, this program prepares children for situations that can happen when staying home alone, from unexpected knocks on the door to making 911 phone calls and everything in between. Parents are encouraged to attend. Advance registration is required at greenfieldrecreation.com.

Rec the Night (Pride & Positivity): On Friday, June 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., children in grades five through seven are invited to come to the Miles Street pocket park to spread sticky note and paper heart positivity throughout downtown and decorate the Miles Street sidewalks ahead of Franklin County Pride. Advance registration is required.

Babysitter Certification: The babysitting course on Monday, June 9, and Tuesday, June 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Recreation Department will prepare youth ages 11 and up to take on the responsibility of child care, providing them with the skills and knowledge to keep kids safe, happy and healthy. Learn the basics of caring for infants through school-age children, from diapering to handling emergency situations. Participants must attend both days of class for certification and advance registration is required.

Screening of “Moana 2” in the Park: Friday, June 13, at 9 p.m. at Beacon Field. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, a strong-willed girl journeys with her crew to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she has ever faced.

First-Ever Bocce Tournament: Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at the Beacon Field bocce courts. For ages 16 and up. Participants must bring their own bocce balls. The cost is $20 per person or $40 per team. The tournament will help support the new pickleball courts at Abercrombie Field. The tournament will be a double elimination tournament limited to 16 teams of two players. Register a team of two or individually and be assigned a team. The championship will consist of the final four teams. Advance registration is required.

19th Hole Golf Clinic: June 23, 24, 25 and 30, and July 1 and 2, from 10 a.m. to noon. For children in kindergarten through sixth grade. $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents. The instructors will guide participants through fundamental techniques and strategies. Through coaching and drills, participants will gain the confidence and knowledge to play. Clubs are available for this program or bring your own. Advance registration is required.

Trivia Night Fireworks Fundraiser: Join the Recreation Department at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, at the Greenfield Elks Lodge for trivia night. The theme is Triple Trivia (music, movies and motoring). The cost is $20 per person with up to six players per team. There will be food, drinks and cash prizes.
