MIAA tourneys: Jaelyn Boliski throws no-hitter to lead Pioneer softball past Madison Park, 24-4

The 24th-seeded Pioneer softball team showed up to play against No. 41 Madison Park in the MIAA Div. 5 preliminary round on Sunday in Northfield.
Jaelyn Boliski threw a five-inning no-hitter for the Panthers, striking out 13 to lead Pioneer into the Round of 32 with a 24-4 victory.
Pioneer (10-11) advanced to face No. 9 Narragansett on Monday at 4 p.m.
Maggie Tsipenyuk finished with three hits, one a double, and drove in three, Amy Van Doren knocked two hits and drove in three, Luci Burnap tallied three hits and an RBI, Hannah Sheperd doubled in a run, Jacobia Tyminski finished with a hit and two RBIs while Laylah Goulston, Kaylee Fernette and Greta Lewis each had a hit and an RBI in the victory.
Maynard 16, Mohawk Trail 1 — After knocking off Boston Collegiate Charter in the preliminary round, the 28th-seeded Warriors were unable to get past the fifth-seeded Tigers Sunday, falling on the road in the Div. 5 Round of 32.
Mohawk Trail closed its season with an 8-13 record.
Chicopee Comp 3, Frontier 0 — The 28th-seeded Redhawks were unable to pull off the upset against the No. 5 Colts on Saturday, falling 25-16, 25-10, 25-18 in the MIAA Div. 2 Round of 32.
Frontier closed its season with an 8-14 record.
