Housing authority staff coming to Brick House

TURNERS FALLS — The Brick House Community Resource Center at 24 Third St. will host the Franklin County Regional Housing & Redevelopment Authority on Wednesday, March 27, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Attendees will learn about affordable and subsidized housing options, and will have the opportunity to make appointments with housing authority staff to get help filling out forms.

Psychic Fair set for March 30

LAKE PLEASANT — The National Spiritual Alliance will sponsor a Psychic Fair on Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Thompson Temple, 2 Montague Ave.

Pancake breakfast planned for Saturday

MONTAGUE CENTER — The First Congregational Church of Montague, 5 North St., will host a pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 30, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The menu includes both plain and blueberry pancakes, real maple syrup, corned beef hash or ham, coffee, tea and juices. Each meal costs $10.

Report on Farren redevelopment strategies now available

MONTAGUE — The town, in partnership with Massachusetts Housing Partnership and the civil engineering firm Vanasse Hangen Brustlin (VHB), is exploring possible land uses, activities and redevelopment strategies for the former Farren Care Center site on Montague City Road.

Through this planning process, various stakeholders and the broader community have identified community needs to guide the town in preparing a vision and physical site planning concepts. As a complementary component to the study, a residential/commercial market feasibility analysis and redevelopment strategy have been provided. Moving forward, the Planning Board will review the report’s findings and recommendations on April 2, and will provide feedback on what next steps the town should take. After the presentation and board discussion, the chair will welcome public comments. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom. Then, on April 22, the Selectboard will provide additional comments.

Two-part vision board
workshop starts April 10

TURNERS FALLS — The Brick House Community Resource Center at 24 Third St. is offering a two-part workshop on vision boards for families starting on Wednesday, April 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Parents and caregivers will create a vision board for themselves. Refreshments and child care will be available.

Then, on Wednesday, April 24, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., their families will create a vision board together. Dinner will be served at this session.
