Montague Police Logs: April 22 to April 27, 2025

1:03 p.m. — Caller states a taxi almost hit her and two other people while they were crossing the street while on a crosswalk on Avenue A. Area checked, unable to locate vehicle.
10:17 p.m. — Reporting party states a male party banged on her door on Greenfield Road and accused her of ordering Chinese food with his credit card. Officer advised. Officer spoke with both parties. Male is going to the bank to get more information.
10:05 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a big tank truck that has been sucking something out of a house on Park Street for a couple months now and it’s very loud. Officer advised. Officer advising prior oil spill. Company has paperwork, was hired for cleanup.
9:57 p.m. — Reporting party advising several young kids are outside yelling very loudly at the Hillcrest Homes apartment complex on Davis Street. Kids were outside with parents. Parents were advised of the complaint.
4:36 p.m. — Reporting party states he was traveling on Millers Falls Road heading back to work and an older man was riding a bike, so he pulled to the left to give him some room and did not see a motorcycle traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. He states that ever since, the guy on the motorcycle has showed up at his work, and just came there a few minutes ago and revved his engine before taking off. Officer spoke with the reporting party and advised him of his options, and told him to call back if the man shows up again.
1:12 p.m. — Reporting party on Fourth Street states there is a woman with a large black dog letting it run loose around the apartments and it is scaring the kids. Area checked, no loose dogs found.
7:32 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports they came up from New Jersey to rent an apartment in Turners Falls and they wanted payment in gift cards. Referred to an officer.
5:44 a.m. — Caller from Oakman Street states his vehicle was gone through overnight. He does not believe anything was taken.

12:09 p.m. — Reporting party from High Street reports his truck was broken into. It wasn’t locked. Nothing was taken but papers were strewn about.
7:47 p.m. — Reporting party from Oakman Street states someone went through his vehicle last night and he has it on camera.
10:17 p.m. — Reporting party states he has driven by the Montague Bookmill a few times today and there is an older station wagon with two people sitting in it. Caller states they have had a couple break-ins the past few months and would like an officer to check the vehicle as the business is closed. Young man and girl hanging out, they were moved along.
1:04 a.m. — Caller from Franklin Street reports a small dark SUV is parked next to a fire hydrant with someone sitting inside of it. States the vehicle and person have been there for a number of hours. Officer advises he checked on the vehicle prior to dispatch. Female was in the vehicle and resting. No issues.
