Montague Police Logs: April 7 to April 21, 2025

2:23 a.m. — Caller reports he sneezed and drove into a parked vehicle on the side of the road on Third Street. Damage to other vehicle’s mirror. Officer advised.
8:03 p.m. — Reporting party from Third Street requesting to speak to an officer regarding his neighbor who has a camera pointed at his apartment door. Advised of options.
9:49 p.m. — Caller on Fourth Street states she was assaulted by one of her boyfriend’s adult daughters. Caller states there was an altercation involving her boyfriend and his daughters, and one of them hit her and she has red marks on her head. Caller initially declined an ambulance but later stated she would like one to respond. Parties left in a Jeep Liberty, likely heading toward Orange. Caller was given statement forms to fill out.
11:34 a.m. — A representative from Our Lady of Czestochowa Church on K Street requests police respond to clean up a mess left behind from someone living in the woods on their property last fall/winter. Reporting party was advised that this is private property and it would be their responsibility to clean it up. Officers checked the items for anything dangerous, nothing found.
7:11 p.m. — Caller reporting someone is outside his house on Highland Avenue. He is not currently home, but is watching cameras from his phone and states his home has been broken into in the past. Officers advise the house is secure, no signs of a break-in.
11:52 a.m. — Caller on Oakman Street states that a lot of her jewelry has gone missing overnight. Officers checked around the house and did not find anything suspicious or any jewelry missing. Officer spoke with the reporting party’s daughter over the phone and advised her of the situation. Services rendered.
7:55 p.m. — Reporting party states there are three or four people having a bonfire in the woods on Power Street. Seems big at this time. Officer advising a single-log fire is being put out by the Turners Falls Fire Department.
11:38 a.m. — Caller from Montague Avenue reports his cousin punched him in the face and bashed his head off the ground. He also let two pit bulls loose before leaving on a blue mountain bike. Officer unable to locate the male at his residence. No signs of the bike.

12:19 p.m. — Caller from Montague City Road reports her husband received a call from someone asking him for his Medicare ID number. Officer advised her of her options.
4:33 p.m. — Caller from Greenfield Road had a chair and a deck storage container taken and knows who took it. Officer advised that she is going to send a certified letter to them stating she wants her stuff back.
1:42 a.m. — Caller from Fourth Street reports a dog barking outside for an extended period of time. Reporting party states the noise is coming from the area of the alleyway. Officer advises the barking dog was located on the third floor, rear of the building. Unable to make contact with the owner. Dog is on the balcony and out of the elements.
8:07 a.m. — Reporting party from Hillside Road reports there is a fox in her driveway. She believes it’s injured. Number given for animal control.
3:35 a.m. — Caller from Turnpike Road reports someone went through his vehicles at 12:30 a.m. He has the incident on camera. A Slim Jim and a flashlight were stolen. Report taken.
7:34 a.m. — Reporting party from O Street states someone broke into two vehicles in their driveway overnight and they have footage of it. A debit card was taken from the Jeep. The card belonged to a family member.
11:17 a.m. — Walk-in to the station reports her vehicle was broken into overnight on Montague City Road. An oversized Disney bag was taken. Inside was a bunch of personal information. Reporting party came back in and stated that a neighbor found the bag and returned it, nothing missing.
11:27 a.m. — Caller from Bridge Street states he had left his car jacked up yesterday, and someone came by, lowered the car and stole his tools. Advised of options.
12:11 p.m. — Caller reports their vehicles were broken into overnight on South High Street. Report taken.
12:22 p.m. — While off at a nearby address, an officer was flagged down about two more vehicles that were broken into. Report taken.
Monday, April 14
7:48 a.m. — Caller from Walnut Street would like it on record that someone went through his vehicle overnight. He does not believe anything is missing.
11:15 a.m. — Reporting party from Turners Falls Road would like it on record that the trailer hitch was stolen from his truck overnight.
11:49 a.m. — Reporting party from Federal Street would like it on record that last night at around 9:30 p.m., some type of truck drove up her driveway and may have backed into her bird feeders. The vehicle turned around and went back down the driveway.
1:52 p.m. — Reporting party from Greenfield Road states that a package containing a security system was taken from her porch while she was out of town. She would like this incident on record.
1:54 p.m. — Reporting party states he left his wallet and phone on top of his vehicle before going for a bike ride in the Montague Plains. When he came back, his phone was there but the wallet was gone.
5:21 p.m. — Caller from Bridge Street reporting fraud through Cash App and her debit card, states it is her daughter’s boyfriend. Officer advised.
2:54 a.m. — Caller on Third Street states she was woken up by the Department of Public Works outside using leaf blowers near her apartment. Caller states she wants someone to speak to them about the noise and requests to know who said it was alright to do work at this hour. DPW advised of complaint, will be working roughly two hours. Reporting party requests to speak to an officer later in the morning after calling back about the noise to inquire what can be done in the future.
3:26 a.m. — Caller from Avenue A reports loud noise from leaf blowers downtown. Additional caller reporting loud noise outside her residence.
9:28 a.m. — Reporting party from the Montague Center Water Department on Main Street states the shed was broken into and $1,000 worth of meters were taken. Officer advised.
11:01 a.m. — Reporting party from Federal Street calling to report vandalism and theft. She needs to review video footage and will call back. She called back confirming she has footage of the incident and states it occurred shortly after midnight on April 17. One mailbox-style cash box was stolen, another was badly damaged, and a dozen eggs and a pallet of rosemary were also stolen.
12:03 p.m. — Caller states there are several hypodermic needles across the street from Kostanski Funeral Home at the abandoned house. Officer picked up the items.
6:03 a.m. — Walk-in to station would like to speak to an officer about a break-in on South High Street. Party’s vehicle was broken into. Officer checked the area for any other damaged vehicles and located a second vehicle on the street with an open door.
8:06 a.m. — Reporting party from O Street states that a male party with a dog broke into their cars last night. They have the suspect on camera. Nothing taken, reporting party will email footage.
10:24 a.m. — Caller from Our Lady of Czestochowa Church on K Street believes someone tried to break into the church overnight through a vent. Caller just wanted it on record, no real damage done.
3:25 a.m. — Caller from Central Street states a male party and his friends are outside arguing. Quiet upon police arrival, no one outside. Spoke to one individual who was advised of the complaint.
1:28 a.m. — Camera motion detector went off in the lower-level restaurant of the Montague Bookmill on Greenfield Road. Thin individual wearing a hood inside the building. Officers on scene, unsecure door in the back. Officers advised to be on the lookout for a silver Subaru with Connecticut plates, last seen near 440 Greenfield Road, possibly involved in a breaking and entering.
1:01 p.m. — Reporting party from Turnpike Road states he would like it on record that his Trek mountain bike (silver/blue) was taken from his backyard in the last day or two.
