TURNERS FALLS – On every third Wednesday of the month from May till October, The United Arc WOW Bus will be parked in front of the United Arc offices at 294 Avenue A from 1 to 4 p.m.
The truck event by The United Arc, in collaboration with the Turners Falls Greenfield Savings Bank location, will offer free health screens, and information on local businesses, agencies and other community resources to anyone in the community. The event is free, and starts today.
MONTAGUE CENTER – The First Congregational Church at 4 North St. will offer a pancake breakfast on Saturday, May 31, from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Homemade pancakes and real maple syrup with ham or sausage will be served with a choice of coffee, tea or juice. The breakfast is $10 for walk-in service.
ERVING – Illusionist David Garrity will appear at the Erving Elementary School, 28 Northfield Road, on Thursday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. for his one-person show “Magic & Beyond.”
This event is open to the public, and reservations can be made by calling the Erving Senior and Community Center at 413-423-3649.

This festival features a 1 to 2:30 p.m. West African drumming workshop with John Hughes at the Brick House Community Resource Center, 24 3rd St. Registration is required, and a there is suggested donation of $20, but nobody will be turned away from lack of funds.

Starting at 4 p.m., the free music festival will kick-off, featuring performances from Myrtle Street Klezmer, John Hughes and Stephen Katz Duo, and Juan Carlos Marin Son Jarocho Band at the Peskeompskut Park bandshell at Avenue A and 7th Street.

TUNRERS FALLS – The Great Falls Discovery Center is presenting the 18th annual Family Fishing Day on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at two locations in Gill and Turners Falls.
Starting at 10 a.m., a shuttle bus sponsored by FirstLight Hydro Generating Co. will take guests from the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A, to the Barton Cove Campground in Gill for free fishing until 2 p.m. Guests can bring their own equipment, or rent a limited quantity of equipment. Fishing bait will be provided.

At the Discovery Center, the Western Mass Fly Fishermen will offer free fly lure tying demonstrations, and guests can make their own lure. The USGS Conte Anadromous Fish Research Lab will likely bring a Shortnose sturgeon as part of this demonstration. Guests can also make their own fish print, known as the art of Gyotaku, that they can take home, starting at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with FirstLight Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center staff there to help.
