Two puzzle swaps planned in November

NORTHFIELD — The next two puzzle swaps at Dickinson Memorial Library will be held Saturday, Nov 2, and Saturday, Nov. 30, both from 10 to 11:30 a.m. There will be no December puzzle swap, so attendees are advised to plan ahead.

All puzzles are free. Attendees can take as many puzzles as they want and keep them for as long as they need.

Nov. 4: Learn about fraud protection with Greenfield Savings Bank reps

NORTHFIELD — Linda Ackerman and Ashley Costa from Greenfield Savings Bank will speak about ways residents can protect themselves from fraud during the Northfield Senior Center’s coffee social on Monday, Nov. 4. The coffee social begins at 10 a.m., with speakers at 11 a.m.

Pilates classes start Nov. 4

BERNARDSTON — Laura Rooney will lead a mat Pilates class at the Bernardston Senior Center on Mondays starting Nov. 4, at 10 a.m.

Classes focus on core strengthening, balance strengthening, flexibility and toning, postural improvement and movement meditation. The costs is $3 per class.

Art class to work with shrink film

NORTHFIELD — Join retired art teacher Ginny Rockwood at the Northfield Senior Center on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon to work with shrink film.

Participants will use colored pencils and alcohol markers to color drawings and then shrink them with heat. The colors intensify and the plastic shrinks approximately 75% and thickens. Participants will make holiday ornaments.

Baystate Health patient portal tech help available

BERNARDSTON — Learn how to set up a patient portal at Baystate Health with tech helper Jay Yankowski at the Bernardston Senior Center on Friday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m.

Once the portal is set up, participants can explore how to access lab results, make appointments, handle billing and more.

The program is also available on Zoom.

Visit Northfield on Nov. 9 for two church bazaars

NORTHFIELD — Two churches will give shoppers twice as many reasons to visit Northfield for holiday shopping on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Church, at 80 Main St., will hold its Elves Fair. The fair will feature indoor and outdoor vendors, raffle baskets, a cafe and lunch, a bake sale with homemade apple and pumpkin pies (either fresh or take-to-bake frozen), and exclusive handmade Belgium chocolates. Lunch will include homemade chili with cornbread, squash soup, hot dogs, burgers, chicken fingers, cider and more. To preorder frozen pies, call 603-577-0198.

The Trinitarian Congregational Church at 147 Main St. will hold its Hollyberry Fair in the Fellowship Hall. The raffle table will feature a Massachusetts Lottery scratch card tree, baskets for children ages 3 to 5 and 6 and up, and many more themed baskets. There will be baked goods, baked beans and apple pies for sale, local crafts exhibitors and Christmas tags. The lunch menu includes macaroni and cheese, chili dogs, corn chowder, soup and homemade crusty bread.

Additionally, the jump rope-making machine will be back.

Both churches are fully accessible and have free parking.
