Library Friends group organizing dog show

NORTHFIELD — The Friends of the Dickinson Memorial Library will host a dog show on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. in the parking lot behind the library.

Participants can enter their dog to win a prize in one of 12 categories. The admission fee is $10 for a dog with an adult handler and $5 for a dog with a child handler. Registration starts at 1:30 p.m.

Oct. 19: Leyden Pie Contest

LEYDEN — The Leyden Democratic Town Committee is sponsoring a Leyden Pie Contest on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. at the Avery Field pavilion.

Attendees can also enjoy local apples and cider. Special guests will be announced.
