PHOTO: Intersection of Church, Franklin streets closed in Greenfield for reported sinkhole

The Greenfield Police Department closed the intersection of Church and Franklin streets late Monday afternoon for a reported sinkhole. Officers estimated it could be up to 10 feet deep and the pavement around it is bowing. The intersection will remain closed overnight and the Department of Public Works will repair it on Tuesday, according to the city of Greenfield’s Facebook page.
