GREENFIELD — Local and State Police are searching for a male and female suspect who allegedly ran from their vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to Greenfield Police Lt. Christopher Greene, the man and woman ran toward Cherry Street, where Greenfield Police assisted by establishing a perimeter with K-9 units, after State Police pulled the vehicle over on Bernardston Road on Friday afternoon.

The chase caused the Discovery School at Four Corners to temporarily shelter-in-place. Greene said State Police had already detained other suspects who are alleged to have been in the vehicle. He added that he does not know what charges the suspects are wanted for.

“The perimeter was set up fast, and we’re still looking for the two individuals,” Greene said at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

State Police could not be reached immediately for comment. This report will be updated as further details arise.
