DEERFIELD — To facilitate Eversource’s grid enhancement project, Stillwater Road will be closed to all traffic from Upper Road/Stillwater Bridge to Hoosac Road on Thursday, May 8, and Friday, May 9.

SUNDERLAND — In an effort to return the favor to the First Congregational Church of Sunderland, the Sunderland Men’s Club is hosting a spaghetti and meatballs fundraiser on Saturday, May 10.
The Sunderland Men’s Club, longtime member Dan Devine said, used to meet in the town’s fire station until it outgrew the space, at which point the church offered up its fellowship hall as a meeting room for the club.
Devine said the fundraiser is an opportunity to raise some money for the church’s daily operations while showing support for a group that helped out the Men’s Club.
“If you’re a parishioner or citizen in town who wants to help,” he said, “all you need to do is show up and eat.”
The meal will consist of spaghetti and meatballs, salad and garlic bread, alongside brownies and lemon squares made by church members. It will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children. To reserve a meal in advance, call Carol Kushi at 413-665-3068.
