Roads closing for Tree House Brewing Co. half-marathon

SOUTH DEERFIELD — Several roads around South Deerfield will be closed and others will experience delays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday as Tree House Brewing Co. hosts its annual half-marathon

The race begins at the brewery on Routes 5 and 10 and runners will head north. While Routes 5 and 10 will be open for travel, runners will be on the shoulder and drivers should expect delays through 1 p.m. Conway, North and Pleasant streets will be open to local traffic only until 12:45 p.m.

North Main Street from Pleasant Street to Sugarloaf Street will be closed until noon, but local traffic will be allowed in once runners clear the northbound lane of North Main Street. Sugarloaf Street’s northbound lane from Elm Street to Sunderland Road (Route 116) will be closed through 9:30 a.m.

On Route 116 to River Road, runners will use the westbound lane until 9:30 a.m. Drivers should expect delays and plan ahead, as eastbound and westbound traffic will remain open via one-way vehicle traffic. River Road to Hillside Road will be open to local traffic only until 9:45 a.m.

River Road from Hillside Road to Keith Cross Road will be closed until 11:30 a.m. and Hillside Road from North Main Street to River Road will be closed until noon.

Sen. Mark, Rep. Blais to hold ‘ReMarks and Refreshments’ event

CONWAY — State Sen. Paul Mark, D-Becket, and Rep. Natalie Blais, D-Deerfield, will be holding a “ReMarks and Refreshments” event to answer residents’ questions and talk about the challenges Conway is facing.

The event will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Conway Town Hall, 5 Academy Hill Road.
