ORANGE — The spaghetti supper fundraiser held at Orange American Legion Post 172 on Saturday, Jan. 11, generated $500 for the North Quabbin Dog Park.

Jade Bailey, the dog park’s president, said the money will be used for park maintenance, trash removal, dog waste bags and to install some benches.

“I think it went over pretty well,” Bailey said on Tuesday. “I was just scared that it wasn’t going to [have] a good turnout, so I was a little nervous, but it went over better than I expected.”

Bailey said she, Donald and Karen Buzzee, Aurore LaMarche and Mark Kovalsick prepared pasta, meatballs, salad, and bread and butter for 45 to 50 people over roughly 2½ hours.

The cost was $10 per plate for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and younger.

In November, photographer and dog owner Kirsten Spencer led a photo shoot fundraiser that generated at least $325 for the dog park. Spencer mentioned $300 of the money would be used to pay off debt with a trash removal company and the remainder would go toward the cost of a Transfer Station sticker.
