SUNDERLAND — As the state Department of Transportation (MassDOT) prepares for a deck repair and resurfacing project on the Sunderland Bridge, drivers are advised there will be one-way traffic on the bridge for two days next week.

On Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, MassDOT will conduct setup work on the bridge, which will require alternating, one-way traffic, as crews prepare for repairs. Drivers on the bridge, which carries Route 116 over the Connecticut River and connects Sunderland and Deerfield, should expect delays, reduce their speed and use caution.

Following the conclusion of setup work early next week, two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with a new traffic pattern implemented. Work is expected to end in the fall, according to MassDOT.

Signs, law enforcement details and message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
