SHELBURNE FALLS — Summer is here, and so is the Shelburne Falls Military Band’s concert season.
The band will perform free concerts every Wednesday at locations around the village and in surrounding towns. All concerts will begin at 7 p.m.
The schedule is as follows:
■June 18: Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School, 75 Mechanic St., Shelburne.
■June 25: Mary Lyon Church, 17 Upper St., Buckland.
■July 2: Fellowship Hall, 17 Little Mohawk Road, Shelburne.
■July 9: Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School, 75 Mechanic St., Shelburne.
■July 16: Charlemont Federated Church, 175 Main St., Charlemont.

SHELBURNE FALLS — Arms Library is kicking off its annual Summer Reading Program, “Level Up at Your Library,” on Saturday, June 21.
Library patrons can pick up their summer reading kits and learn about the program at the library, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day. The Summer Reading Program offers small weekly incentives, surprise activities, end-of-summer gifts for those who finish the program and a party at the end to celebrate.

BUCKLAND — Swimming lessons at the Buckland Pool are open for registration. Classes are Monday through Friday, with lessons from 8:30 a.m. to noon for swimmers of different age levels.
Lessons are taught by a certified American Red Cross instructor and will cover various strokes, improving water stamina and comfort, and other essential swimming skills. Session 1 will be held from June 30 to July 11 and Session 2 will be held from July 14 to July 25.
Lessons are $65 per student for Buckland residents and $95 for non-residents.
In addition to swimming lessons for children, the Buckland Recreation Department will offer water fitness classes for adults at the pool. Two sessions will be offered, each including 12 classes for $85. The first session will be held from June 17 to July 24 and the second is from July 28 to Aug. 22.

BUCKLAND — The Buckland Historical Society invites the community to enjoy an evening of trains and pies on Friday, June 27, at 7 p.m.
Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum President Sam Bartlett will discuss the history of trains in town, including where they stopped, what they carried and more, at the Buckland Public Hall, located at 15 Upper St.
After the talk, attendees can enjoy homemade pies, coffee and cider. Admission is $10 for Historical Society members, $12 for non-members and $20 for families.
