May 17: Community Square Dance

CHARLEMONT — Residents are invited to an evening of live music, dancing and food at the Charlemont Lions Club Community Square Dance.

The dance is free to attend and will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Charlemont Fairgrounds on Park Street. The gates will open at 6 p.m.

Annual Great Strides walk set for Sunday

SHELBURNE FALLS — Join the Audrey’s Angels team for its Great Strides walk to raise money for cystic fibrosis research on Sunday, May 18.

Registration will begin at 1 p.m. at the Buckland-Shelburne Elementary School and the walk will begin at 1:30. Two routes are available: a 1½-mile loop and a 3-mile loop.

SHELBURNE FALLS — Join artist Rebecca Clark for a workshop on soft pastels on Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Salmon Falls Gallery, 1 Ashfield St.

For $60, budding artists can experiment with the medium, participate in drawing exercises, and build confidence playing with shadows, light, lines, texture, color and different types of paper.

Farmers market season starts May 23

SHELBURNE FALLS — The farmers market is back for the 2025 season. Beginning May 23, local artists, farmers and other vendors will be set up at the corner of Main and Water streets on Fridays from 2 to 6:30 p.m. through October.
