Keeping Score with Chip Ainsworth: Can Harasymiak stop the losing?
08-10-2025 11:31 PM

Good morning! Now comes Joe Harasymiak, bearded and bellowing, mandated by the administration to put fans in the seats and wins in the record book. Gary Bernhard: A letter to congressional Republicans
08-11-2025 11:08 AM

Hey, you won the election. Donald Trump is president again, and Republicans control the House and the Senate. In addition, the Supreme Court has a conservative majority. But did you really want what has happened since Trump was inaugurated? Do you like the appointment to the president’s cabinet of people with no expertise but plenty of blind loyalty to Trump? Do you support the chaotic cuts to federal organizations, the thoughtless firings, and the sheer incompetence of the process? Are you OK with undermining the rule of law, attacking lawyers and judges, focusing on retribution instead of developing policies that will improve the lives of all Americans? How about the cruel and illegal treatment of immigrants? Or the loss of faith with our allies? Should our president be kissing up to a dictator like Vladimir Putin? Is it a good idea to increase costs and anger our closest trading partners with mindless and unnecessary tariffs? Does the United States really need to control Greenland and the Panama Canal? Should Canada really become the 51st state?
