MONTAGUE — After 36 years with the Montague Police Department, including seven years at the helm, Chief Christopher Williams is retiring.
7:16 a.m. — Reporting party on Third Street states there are six turkey vultures living in the vacant third-floor apartment. She can see them flying in and out of the open window. Reports her cat was killed by one and there are a lot of other animals in the area and she is worried about them. Reporting party was advised the animal control officer would be made aware, however, it might be a wildlife matter.
12:29 p.m. — Passerby reports two male parties are fistfighting at Poet’s Seat Tower. No fighting found upon police arrival.

ORANGE — A Worcester man who struck Warwick’s police chief with a vehicle while fleeing a traffic stop last year will spend the next 2½ years in jail for charges related to the crime.

6:10 p.m. — Reporting party from East Main Street states there is a child locked in a room in an apartment who has been screaming for more than an hour to be let out. Second floor, right side. Officer advising the child is fine, just overtired.
12:36 p.m. — Caller reports her son was being harassed at the Greenfield Skate Park on Chapman Street by a male party in a blue sweatsuit who told him he cannot skate at the park and will report him for missing school. Caller just wanted it documented in case other kids are being harassed. Services rendered.

TURNERS FALLS — Montague Police requested the assistance of Greenfield Police and officers assigned to the Franklin County Regional Special Response Team in an attempt to serve arrest warrants for two males — one man and one juvenile — on Wednesday in connection with a report of shots fired on Third Street near the Nouria gas station Monday morning.

BUCKLAND — There is no threat to safety after a student was expelled for threatening the senior class at Mohawk Trail Regional School, according to Shelburne Police Chief Greg Bardwell.
8:58 a.m. — Report of an unwanted person at the homeless shelter on Arch Place. Male got into his vehicle and left. Clinical & Support Options was advised to seek a no-trespass notice via the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
