Bulletin Board: Greenfield Post 81 holding registration and tryouts Saturday and Sunday

The Post 81 American Legion Baseball Team will hold registration and tryouts on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Field in Greenfield.
The program features both Junior Division and Senior Division teams. Players ages 17 and under by Dec. 31, 2025 are eligible for Junior Division action, while players ages 19 and under by Dec. 31, 2025 are eligible for Senior Division play.
Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to try out, and those on a previous Post 81 roster must still try out in order to be eligible. Players are asked to bring a glove, cleats and their original birth certificate.

Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus League at Thomas Memorial got underway Wednesday, with Ryan Hickey taking first with a score of plus-8.
Bill Devino took second (7) while Jeremy White, Mike Cadran and Kenny Mitzkovitz tied for third (6). Mike Waterman won closest to the pin on No. 7 (six feet, 11 inches) and No. 9 (18-4), Chirs Ray won skins while Hickey shot the low gross (37).

Elks Club 1, Franklin First Credit Union 1 — Alyza Rivera had three hits while Brynleigh Bernard had two hits and an RBI for Elks Club in a tie on Wednesday. LilyMelissa Beckwith and Maya Towne had hits for Franklin.

Pipione’s 5, Elks 4 — Owen Williams struck out nine and doubled while Spencer Towne tripled and drove in two in Pipione’s win Wednesday. Jack Carney struck out seven, tripled and singled while Colton Rider doubled in the loss.
GMLB
Pioneer Valley Tire 13, Liberty Tax 3 — Laurence Shields (four hits), Jacob Beaudoin (two hits) and Wyatt Wilkins (triple, seven strikeouts) led Pioneer Valley Tire to an AAA win Tuesday.
Cameron Santerre tripled while Ben Trombley and Noah Marguet doubled for Liberty Tax.
