Art is the most important piece of culture that a community can have. It empowers people, it inspires people, it makes people feel any emotion the artist wants to convey. It reflects what the artist believes, informing and communicating different aspects of life and the world, different perspectives and point of views, and shows every part of humanity.

However, showing art to the masses can sometimes be a problem, especially for younger or more local artists. Venues of self expression can be hard to come by for local artists, and this limits the amount of art that is accessible and people can feel truly connected to. Local art is very important to a community, as it is fundamentally interconnected with the rest of the community, and makes them more tight-knit and brings them together. Without this, a community’s self expression would be limited and not truly indicative of how the members feel.

So, community members must work together and contribute to help remedy this problem. The best way to do this would be to, of course, create venues for artists to express their art at. I urge you to reach out to local businesses, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and try and set up a venue for artists to perform, show off, and express themselves. It would give artists so many more opportunities to put themselves out there and truly make changes in their community.
