Richard Di George: Demonstrating severe lack of leadership

The reasons for Donald Trump not to be our next president are many and here is just a short list. His attitude during the whole COVID thing was completely unprofessional and disrespectful to the science field. You see, Trump is a know-it-all, and one thing I discovered a long time ago is that know-it-alls listen to nobody. Think back to when he was president how many staff he went through, and now some of those staff (Marine Gen. John Kelly for one) are speaking out against him and rightfully so. Over 500,000 Americans died, a lot of them because they followed in his footsteps.

He incited a riot that caused five or six deaths and the destruction of government (taxpayers;) property — why the Justice Department never charged him is beyond me. I asked a fellow veteran what he thought would have happened to us if we had done likewise while serving, and with no hesitation whatsoever he said we would have been charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, court-martialed and sentenced to Fort Leavenworth. All this would have happened within six months of the acts.

He still refuses to accept the outcome from the last election, and a couple weeks ago his running mate was asked about same and refused to answer the simple question which, in my opinion, shows serious character flaws. I watched most of the proceedings of the Jan. 6 Commission and I read Liz Cheney’s book “Oath and Honor,” and believe me the last election was not rigged.

His ego is too large for him to care about you and me. He could not care less about the planet and there is no doubt in my mind that if elected he will pardon those already charged. As a Marine Corps veteran of 30 years, I don’t like being disrespected by being called “suckers and losers,” and I don’t think my fellow vets should like it either. He simply is not to be trusted.
