Chip Ainsworth is correct in his March 22 “Keeping Score” column that pickleball is a sport that “even a rhinoceros could play.” But one of its positives is that it’s a great participatory sport that can be, and is, played by many different species.

It’s a sport for gazelles, giraffes, lions, rabbits, even snakes and alligators. Many different body types, ages, and genders of humans play as well, some in a fast and aggressive game, others in a slower, more cooperative game. Rhinoceri don’t fare well in game against cheetahs and bobcats.
