Sen. Mark’s staff holding office hours

BUCKLAND — State Sen. Paul Mark’s staff will hold office hours on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon at Buckland Town Hall, 17 State St.

Residents of any of the 57 municipalities in the Berkshire, Hampden, Franklin and Hampshire District are encouraged to share ideas on current or potential state legislation, or to ask for assistance with issues involving any state agency. Appointments are not required.

Hobby Horse Bazaar set for Saturday

CHARLEMONT — Hawlemont Regional School will host its 46th annual Hobby Horse Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visitors can shop from local craftspeople and vendors, enjoy a bake sale, and participate in activities such as wreath making and glitter tattoos.

There will also be seven raffle baskets up for grabs. Raffle baskets have different themed prizes, including family fun, date night and winter fun. They include Lottery tickets, gift cards to local businesses, and items like tumblers and candles.

Tree lighting, sing-along planned

ROWE — The annual holiday sing-along and Christmas tree lighting will be held at Town Hall on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Rowe residents are invited to join their neighbors for carols, cocoa and cookies, along with games and activities.

Residents can also help prepare the town for the holiday season by helping decorate Town Hall and the Rowe Town Library on Friday, Dec. 6, starting at 10 a.m.

Ashfield Police holding ‘Stuff a Cruiser’ event

ASHFIELD — The Police Department is looking for donations of new, unwrapped toys, coats and winter clothing for its “Stuff a Cruiser” event on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Donors can bring their gifts to the Police Station from 9 a.m. to noon. The Ashfield Police Department is partnering with Goshen Police, so anyone who can’t make it in the morning can alternatively drop off donations at Goshen Town Hall from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Donations will be given to It Takes a Village, a Huntington-based nonprofit that will sort the toys and distribute them to local families in need.

Singing seasonal songs on Dec. 14

CHARLEMONT — Soprano Tinky Weisblat and pianist Jerry Noble will present an afternoon of seasonal songs on Saturday, Dec. 14.

At 2 p.m., the performers will take the stage at the Charlemont Federated Church on Route 2 to sing Christmas carols and other seasonal songs. The concert is free to attend, but donations will be accepted for the Minister’s Discretionary Fund, supporting local families in need.

The concert has a snow date of Dec. 15. For more information, call 413-339-4747.

Donations sought for Shelburne Falls ‘Stuff a Cruiser’ event on Dec. 15

SHELBURNE FALLS — In partnership with the Giving Back Together Toy Drive, the Shelburne Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Franklin County and North Quabbin will hold a “Stuff a Cruiser” toy drive on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the pocket park on Bridge Street.

Residents are invited to bring donations of new, unwrapped toys and enjoy cocoa, cookies and music from DJ Goldilocks. Donors can also greet special guests from the Buckland, Shelburne Center and Shelburne Falls Fire departments, as well as representatives from the Children’s Advocacy Center, Smokey Bear and Santa Claus.
