BUCKLAND — The Mohawk Trail Regional School District plans to use a team effort to move forward from recent allegations of staff misconduct and inappropriate relationships with students, and has outlined a plan to learn about such cases and how to report them.
A recent letter claims that libraries are “a vital cornerstone of democracy” (April 1). The letter writer is entitled to her opinion, but that’s an absurd thing to say when many let drag queens in the front door. They shouldn’t be let in at all!
SHELBURNE — The Town Clerk’s Office will offer additional voter registration hours on Thursday, April 10, from 10:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. for those who are not currently registered to vote in Shelburne but would like to attend the April 22 Special Town Meeting.

BUCKLAND — A 10-week investigation into a relationship between a school resource officer/teacher and an 18-year-old student at Mohawk Trail Regional School by the Berkshire County district attorney’s office has determined the officer and student “were involved in a relationship beyond that of a teacher/student,” but that there was no criminal violation.

BUCKLAND — Following a civil complaint alleging sexual assault by a former employee, Mohawk Trail Regional School District Superintendent Sheryl Stanton is advising families that the district is working with Enough Abuse, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse, to provide training to staff and review school policies to ensure students are safe.
