The Greenfield Adult Recreation Singles Tennis League is looking for players. The league is scheduled to start on May 19, with a friendly mixer on May 18 at 4 p.m. at the Beacon Field Tennis Courts on Sanderson Street in Greenfield.

The league operates by sending out a list of opponents and contact information, with each player playing one match a week after you and your opponent set up a mutually agreeable time to play. Matches are best of three sets.

Depending on the number of players who register, there will be several divisions, based on ability. There will be a “switch” half-way through the season, where the divisions will adjust based on player performance. For information on the Greenfield Tennis Association and its events, see the website (https://greenfieldtennis.blogspot.com/). The league is $30 for Greenfield residents and $40 for non-residents.

If you are interested in signing up to play in the league, contact league commissioner Andrew Varnon at andrew.varnon@gmail.com. You can also get information on how to register at the Greenfield Recreation website (https://www.greenfieldrecreation.com/).
