Author to detail ‘America’s Next Top Model’ experience

SHELBURNE FALLS — Author and former “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Sarah Hartshorne will read from her new book detailing her experiences competing on the hit modeling show.

Hartshorne will be at Mocha Maya’s on Bridge Street at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, to read from her book, “You Wanna be on Top? A Memoir of Makeovers, Manipulation and Not Becoming America’s Next Top Model.”

Historical Society holding open house

BUCKLAND — Visitors can learn about local history during the Buckland Historical Society’s next open house on Sunday, July 27.

From 1 to 4 p.m., the Historical Society Museum, which houses three floors of artifacts and town records on Upper Street, and the Wilder Homestead on Route 112 will be open to visitors.

Concert to benefit Trolley Museum

SHELBURNE FALLS — Music lovers and train enthusiasts are invited to a concert on Sunday, Aug. 3, to benefit the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum and restoration of a 1903 “Berkshire Hills” parlor car.

Performances will begin at 6 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Shelburne, located at 21 Common Road, and will include Sarah Schiener-Redenz, organist at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Avon, Connecticut; Wayne Dixon, minister of music at Faith Congregational Church in Hartford, Connecticut; The Bill Beckham Singers, a men’s choir that originated in Hartford, Connecticut; and Eustace Benjamin Straker, minister of music at Bloomfield Congregational Church in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
