BELCHERTOWN — In less than ideal weather conditions, the Belchertown girls tennis team successfully defended its Class B Western Massachusetts title with a 5-0 victory over Frontier on Wednesday in the championship match. Second doubles was the only match to go three sets as the Orioles proved its place as the top-ranked team in Class B, who kept the second-seeded Redhawks pointless for the first time this season.

GRANBY — It was the Conner Bergeron show on Monday afternoon as the eighth-grader led the Greenfield baseball team past Granby, 10-0, at the Granby Baseball Diamond in a five-inning affair.
First Honors: Ryker Bray, Erick Castellanos, Rowan Deery, Carter Greene, Konrad Henry, Hanna Kyselyova, Rylee Malek, Blake Minckler, Aaron Neupane, Ryan Newton, Madison Phillips, Lilith Sumner, Jacob Torres, Malcolm Tyler, William Tyler and Anthony Warren.
The first of two regular season games between the Greenfield and Frontier baseball teams took place on Saturday in South Deerfield, with the Green Wave walking away with a 4-0 Suburban League West victory over the Redhawks behind a complete game shutout from Caleb Thomas on the mound.
